I cannot believe my eyes! The citizens of San Benito County
finally realize that the Board of Supervisors is controlled by one
man, ‘Boss Hog,’ who is one of the largest developers in the
county. We are finally going to get him out of office along with
his band of puppets. And what do these brain surgeons on the City
Council do? They appoint him to the COG Committee.
We all understand that the county and city need to work
together, but without HIM!
How about Bob Cruz not knowing he is District 5 Supervisor? Just
goes to show you how well he runs his district.
Let’s not get started on the Planning Commission and Murrill
Conley, who sits back nice and quietly, listening to everything. He
then goes and reports it to Boss Hog, who appointed him to the
commission.
So you see the connection? The Board of Supervisors is
ultimately trying to control everything. I agree. We need to get
all the incumbents out of office and get new blood in there to
better the community.

“I find District Attorney John Sarsfield’s angry reaction to Art Cantu’s lawsuit against the bashful ‘Sara Jones’ both bewildering and interesting at the same time – considering Cantu never accused the DA of being Sara Jones.

It seems to me, Sarsfield would benefit if Cantu were to find the real Ms. Jones. Cantu would clear Sarsfield’s name and if it really was a crime, Sarsfield as DA could then prosecute the scoundrel responsible.

Sounds right to me. If I were John, I’d be happy that someone else was taking the time to clear me.

So the question is: Why is John so upset?”

“For the past few months I have been reading many of your articles that have been written about Richard Scagliotti. I have known him for many years, and I know what he is capable of, and I know what he has done for this town. You should not be printing these lies. Instead, find out the truth. You are a local newspaper for a small town. You should print the truth. And instead of bashing somebody you don’t feel is doing a very good job, you should be at least putting down the things he does say instead of turning things around.”

“For Mayor Bruscia – Let’s put the Barnes and Noble right next door to the parking garage. If you want real sales tax money to come to Hollister try pursuing Mervyn’s or Orchard Supply instead!”

“How about the City of Hollister getting duped by the grant writing firm? These fine city officials pay a man to oversee this firm and he does not do his job, so the city loses about $70,000. This is another fine display of mismanagement. Robert Scattini was so furious he could not even speak about it at the meeting. Why was he not paying attention to this prior to the meeting – goes to show he is doing a fine job.

Now how about the mayor delivering that speech. I think he thought he was delivering the State of the Union instead of the president.

This Council claims it is sorry about the layoffs that are happening, but they have not volunteered to give some of their salaries back to help. Now these city workers, you guys and girls were not hired on for life. The city is like any business in Hollister. When you are prospering, you hire. And when you’re not, you lay off. So let’s not be all up in arms about it – this is what the rest of the world goes through every day, so get over it.

We don’t have money to keep a full workforce going, but we can build a few-million dollar fire station – another great decision. That side of town has been covered for the last seven years by one station. Let’s not forget that we are in a moratorium, so there is no more houses being built over there. Let’s ask what happened to all the fees from all those building permits on that side of town. It is almost $40,000 for one permit. There has to be a few million floating around somewhere in that wonderful Building Department.”
