Dear Editor:

We have heard the “I’d rather be red than dead” syndrome through the years, but the only reason we are a free country is because we are a strong people and have a strong military and a great Constitution that allow people to protest unlike most countries in the Middle East or for that matter the Third World.

Out of 290 million people who live in the United States, I would hardly call the estimated tens of thousands who have protested a majority against our “warmongering” president, military and or government.

We have always, in my lifetime, been vulnerable to unthinkable biological and nuclear attacks, whether our president was a “warmonger” or a “lover.”

In this terrible region of the world where life has little or no value, and our troops are literary surrounded, whether you are a “hawk” or a “dove,” the troops deserve our support and loyalty and to give comfort to a madman like Saddam Hussein is ludicrous under any pretense.
