We take a look at the stories that are coming to the web and in
the paper. This week: a man plans to file a lawsuit alleging the
city discriminated against him in choosing against his plans for
the airport and a team from Pinnacles National Monument heads to
Chile to help in condor conservation.
1. Clashing over the airport’s future
Dissension between the airport advisory commission and developer ABVision about developing open land at the airport could lead to legal troubles. Andy Barnes, owner of ABVision, feels like he’s been discriminated against by the advisory commission and plans to file a formal complaint with the FAA stating that the city and the commission intentionally and unintentionally discriminated against him through federal grant assurances.
2. Pinnacles team flies for condors
A team of Pinnacles National Monument workers will be traveling to Argentina to further the prosperity of the California condor and their Andean condor relatives. The five-person team of Pinnacles National Monument employees leaves Saturday for Argentina to create a partnership to foster condor recovery throughout the Americas.
