The Community Foundation for San Benito County announced its Grant Awards for 2011.

Forty-six awards totaling $398,800 will be distributed to forty nonprofit organizations, which will benefit San Benito County.

Volunteers and staff in six field-of-interest committees reviewed the applications, which were then consolidated by the grants committee. The grants committees are made up of a knowledgeable and diverse committee of community volunteers, as well as CFFSBC board members and staff to assure proper and fair evaluation of all grant requests.

The applications were ranked using pre-established criteria, such as expected community impact. The committee then made the difficult decisions necessary to fit the recommendations into its budget.

The Community Foundation for San Benito County is dedicated to building a stronger community and enhancing the quality of life in San Benito County through the support of philanthropic activities.
