Firefighters battle a blaze on Interstate 880 after a gasoline tanker collided with a car Wednesday in Oakland. The incident shut traffic in both directions during the morning commute.

A big rig carrying more than 8,000 gallons of gasoline crashed and exploded early this morning, blocking Interstate 880 in both directions.

The California Highway Patrol said at least one other vehicle was involved in the 6:15 a.m. crash. No injuries were reported.

News video shows flames from the fire shooting high into the air.
