Hollister – Another temporary restraining order went into effect against San Benito County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Rodrigues – this time by his wife.
Kristi Rodrigues filed the request for a restraining order against the 25-year sheriff’s office veteran Thursday to stay away from her and their two daughters, according to San Benito County Court documents. Her cousin, Amber Elizabeth Cecena, filed a request for a restraining order against Mike Rodrigues on Wednesday, according to court documents.
Rodrigues has denied making any threats and called the restraining orders “ex-wife driven.”
In the request, Kristi Rodrigues claims Mike Rodrigues has threatened to rape her, burn down the house in which she lives while she is there, hit her in the face and run her off the road.
San Benito County Superior Court Judge Steven Sanders signed the order Friday. A judge is scheduled to hear a restraining order request Sept. 28.
While in effect, Mike Rodrigues must stay at least 300 yards away from Kristi Rodrigues and cannot possess any firearms, according to court documents.
This week, the sheriff’s office placed Mike Rodrigues on paid administrative leave. The office is conducting internal affairs investigations on the sergeant, Sheriff Curtis Hill has said.
The Hollister Police Department lists Mike Rodrigues as a stalking suspect from an Aug. 18 crime report, police have said.
