FFA and community teams play donkey basketball
Whoever came up with the old adage
”
stubborn as a mule
”
certainly knew what they were talking about. And if FFA students
at the high school, and the community members who formed a team
against them for donkey basketball, didn’t believe it before they
did April 7 when they took the court at O’Donnell gym.
The players pulled and coaxed the donkeys across the court. The
main rule of the game is that each player has to be sitting on
their donkey before they can shoot or pass the basketball. In the
end, the FFA students triumphed over the community team
– and their donkeys.
The annual event is a fundraiser for Hollister FFA.
