Principal Cindy Cordova of Gabilan Hills said the event is an annul thing.

“We have a PJ day and all types of people come in,” she said.

The books are not limited to those by author Theodor Seuss Geisel, but some volunteers read other children’s favorites. In the upper elementary classes, the students read books themselves, some bringing books from home and others selecting from the books in the classroom.

Even some local preschools got in on the fun, with teachers introducing students to the classic books. The goal, of course, is always to get children reading.
