I am writing this letter in regards to the article that I read
in the paper on Friday about the dress code at San Benito High
School. I am a recent 2003 graduate of San Benito High School, and
I am very disappointed in the actions that are being taken and the
actions that have been taken to enforce the dress code at the high
school.
I am writing this letter in regards to the article that I read in the paper on Friday about the dress code at San Benito High School. I am a recent 2003 graduate of San Benito High School, and I am very disappointed in the actions that are being taken and the actions that have been taken to enforce the dress code at the high school.
The article in the paper on Friday talked about a student that stood up and wanted to know what will be done about the not too recent trend to dress inappropriately at school. The answer that was given by the principal was an all too familiar response. It has been said for the four years that I attended high school and now this year that they will try their best to work out a way to get the kids to dress more appropriately, but their best doesn’t seem to be good enough.
I have noticed through the years that if a student walks on campus wearing an inappropriate shirt or a hat that they are reprimanded right away, being told that they cannot wear that due to the dress code and will be told to change their shirt or take off their hat.
Now, what about the girls that walk around in short skirts where their undergarments can be seen and their shirts show the midriff? I thought the dress code stated that this was inappropriate clothing for school, but it seems that the high school staff seems to look the other way when this kind of misconduct of the dress code happens.
So I ask: What is the dress code and how will you solve the forever building problem of breaking the rules of the dress code?
