The editorial in the April 29 Free Lance criticized the Board of
Supervisors for tabling the formation of an ethics committee. The
editor did recognize the potential for such a committee to be
abusive. He went on to recommend Gavilan College establish
training. Such training is available now for many Republicans.

The National Federation of Republican Women is the largest women’s volunteer organization in the nation. It is made up of local service organizations throughout the country. Many of these local groups provide training for Republican candidates. The emphasis is on conducting efficient, ethical campaigns. Thus, many Republican candidates running for office have had training in political ethics.
