Firefighters

Firefighters have contained a residential fire that sparked just after noon Thursday in a home on the 2000 block of Pacheco Pass in the Gilroy area, CalFire Battalion Chief Jim Crawford said.
A total of nine engines with various fire departments were on scene working to contain the fire just before 2 p.m., he added. No injuries were reported and the home was empty during the fire, Crawford said.
The call came in at 12:29 p.m. and firefighters are investigating what may have caused the blaze.
Crawford said firefighters will remain on scene for up to three hours, and westbound or eastbound traffic along Pacheco Pass should take alternate routes until the investigation is complete.
Members of the Gilroy and Morgan Hill Fire Departments, along with South Santa Clara County Fire and CalFire, responded to assist with the fire.
