The Hollister Police Department arrested four people suspected of driving under the influence during a checkpoint Saturday.
The HPD ran the checkpoint from 6 p.m. to midnight at San Felipe Road and Gateway Drive, according to the HPD in a statement.
Officers screened more than 800 vehicles. Aside from the DUI arrests, there were 6 citations issued for driving on a suspended license and 24 citations issued for driving without a license.
Funding for this and other DUI operations are from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The HPD in its statement reminded people to call 911 when they see suspected drunken drivers.
