The Ft. Benito Cub Scout Day Camp is held at Bolado Park across the highway from the fairgrounds. This the 28th anniversary of the day camp and more than 100 cub scouts participated this year. They were able to participate in activities such as B.B. gun shooting, archery, woodworking, leather craft, swimming, carving, nature hikes, science experiments, learning how to tie knots, rehearsing skits, and an overnight campout, among other activities.
The camp began Monday  and ends Friday. The camp is completely staffed by Boy Scout and adult volunteers. The theme this year is “Space: Where no Cub has gone before.” The day camp director is Rich Westphal, while Mary Damm is in charge of Boy Scout youth leaders.
