Thanks to the strong play of Emiley Palmquist, the Balers continued their early season success Tuesday against Monte Vista Christian, beating the Mustangs by shooting 199.

Palmquist shot the low of the day, scoring a 38 or 3-over par in the front nine of Spring Hills Golf Course in Watsonville on Tuesday.

The rest of the Balers’ five golfers finished in the 50-stroke range. McKenna Bernosky finished second for the Balers with a score of 52. San Benito’s Mandy Glosser was right behind her, shooting a 53. Palmquist’s playing pair Morgan Di Domenico finished with a score of 56.

The Mustang’s top player, Caroline Belmont, shot a 40, or 5-over par, in the Mustang loss. Overall, the Mustangs shot a 219 – 20 more than San Benito.

The Balers return home Thursday to host Christopher at San Juan Oaks Golf Club at 3:30. Under new head coach Corryn Martin the Balers have started the season 3-1.
