runner-up in a three-team meet.
SALINAS

The San Benito High girls golf team carded a team score of 205 at the Corral de Tierra Country Club in Salinas Monday, finishing runner-up in a three-team meet.

Behind medalists Debbie Lee and Deanna Lee, Stevenson took first place with a 179 Monday. The Lee’s recorded matching 41’s on the par-36 front nine.

Notre Dame, which hosted the meet, was third with a 212.

As for the Lady Balers, the team compiled six scores in the 50s. But head coach Chris Branon believes the team is “very close” to improving upon its nine-hole score.

Jenny Glosser led the team with a 50, while Jordan Davies and LaShea Dailey each carded a 51. Rounding out the scoring was Yumi Kimura, Emiley Palmquist and Katie Moeller, all of whom shot a 53 on the front nine at Corral.

San Benito will return home Wednesday to host Salinas at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister. Tee time is 3 p.m.
