Halloween off to a shaky start with 3.2 quake near San Martin

Some residents in San Martin and Gilroy kicked off their Halloween with a jolt in the dark, early hours of the morning.

Several locals reported being shaken awake today when a 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck South County at 2:57 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. 

The temblor struck five miles east of San Martin, seven miles northeast of Gilroy and eight miles southeast of Morgan Hill.
