The Hollister Heat 10U “B” team split their doubleheader Saturday against the visiting Morgan Hill Pride.
In the first game, Hollister won 9-8. Megan Flores hit a triple, and Morgan Hill missed the cutoff player to allow Flores to score the winning run.
Kelly Bambrick threw four innings.
Mari Vallejo had a couple nice plays defensively at shortstop for the Heat.
The Heat (6-7-1) lost the second game 9-5 after giving up four runs in the final inning.
Lenae Stevens laid down a nice bunt in the fourth inning to score the runners at second and third base and tie the game at 5-5.
The Heat got solid pitching performances from starter Morgan Daleo and from Tayor Fabing.
The Pride’s starting shortstop launched a home run over the second fence at the softball field at Veteran’s Park. She had a triple later in the game.
