Hollister School District trustees this week approved a priority list of projects for facility improvements by school site outlining how the district might spend money if the $28.5 million Measure M general obligation facilities bond before voters is approved Nov. 4.
School site safety and security were identified as a top priority at Tuesday’s meeting. Providing Americans with Disabilities Act access while upgrading restroom facilities was another top priority. Air conditioning, technology and addressing proposed growth and space needs were also included on the priority list.
Currently, the district has $1.2 million in Proposition 39 California Clean Energy Jobs Act funds and $1.6 million in developer fees available for master plan facilities projects. The master plan outlines a total of more than $150 million in potential facilities modernization and construction projects. Over the next 10 years, officials estimated the district will receive $13 million to $15 million in additional Fund 25 Developer Fees.
