The Hollister School District trustees voted 4-0 last week in favor of approving a contract with a campaign consultant to analyze their ability to call for a second general obligation facilities bond.
The district is allowed to call for general obligation bond measures in even-numbered years, meaning the next opportunity following the bond secured in 2014 is to call for another one in 2016.
The approved $15,000 contract was with Connell Lindh, the same campaign consultant that worked with the district in the prior election.
In November of 2014, voters gave the district authorization to sell $28.5 million of general obligation bonds to ease the overcrowding of schools and to modernize existing facilities.
With the district’s anticipated facilities needs in excess of $100 million, it will “continue to face the need for more financial resources for facilities-related projects, in addition to the resources provided as a result of the successful 2014 bond measure,” according to the background information in the meeting agenda packet.
