A 36-year-old Hollister woman died Sunday afternoon in a solo-car crash on Highway 156 near Hollister, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman, whose identity was not released in a statement from the CHP, was a passenger in a 2008 Nissan. A 13-year-old Hollister girl also sustained major injuries, according to a statement from the CHP.
The driver sustained moderate injuries, while another passenger sustained minor injuries.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. Sunday east of Fairview Road. The driver, a 39-year-old Hollister man, was eastbound on Highway 156 when he veered off the road for unknown reasons. The car went through a fence and across Pacheco Pass Highway’s frontage road before hitting two trees.
