Jesse Ramirez scored a season-high 30 points to lift the Anzar
boys’ basketball team past Georgiana Bruce Kirby 38-33 on Thursday
night in Coastal Athletic League action in Santa Cruz.

Jesse Ramirez scored a season-high 30 points to lift the Anzar boys’ basketball team past Georgiana Bruce Kirby 38-33 on Thursday night in Coastal Athletic League action in Santa Cruz.

Ramirez had five 3-pointers in the game, equaling half of his 30 points, and scored roughly 79 percent of the Hawks’ 38-point output on Thursday night.

Furthermore, Ramirez’s scoring performance outscored Kirby’s top two scorers in the game: Ethan Kopit, who led the Santa Cruz school with 17 points, and Gabe Best, who added 12 points in the loss.

The win improves Anzar to 2-1 in the CAL and 3-7 overall.

The Hawks will host Anchorpoint Christian next Tuesday at home in San Juan Bautista.
