The Soledad Aztecs controlled a 23-2 lead after one quarter on Friday against the Anzar boys basketball team and cruised to a 46-20 victory in non-conference action.

Mark Rania scored six points in the loss for Anzar, which falls to 2-9 overall on the season.

Andres Gomez and Alex Valles each added five points apiece for the Hawks, who trailed 25-5 at halftime.

Anzar will host Gonzales on Monday in San Juan Bautista. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
