NOTES: Cal-bound Baler pitcher Trent Roach threw a no-hitter in the win over Monterey, giving the Balers a key win in the league standings. Gavin Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs. Roach went 2-for-3 and Wes Aviles was 3-for-3. 

The victory edges Hollister ahead of St. Francis and Monterey for third place.

NOTES: Freshman Aleah Ruiz homered in the Monterey game. Balers now tied with Palma for third place in league.

Hollister HS boys volleyball (16-11 overall, 2-2 PCAL Gabilan)

Recent results: Lost 3-0 at Monterey

NOTES: Against Monterey, Rony Salas-Ramirez led the Balers with 11 kills. Abraham Corona passed off for 16 assists and Marcos Matus dished 12 assists.

Hollister Winter Sports All-Academic Team

All Academic awards went to Kylie Varnes (soccer, 4.67 GPA), Isabella Gutierrez (wrestling, 4.33), Carlie Rowen (basketball, 4.50), Lauren Fernandez (cheer, 4.33), Xen Niverson (basketball, 4.33), Simon Reyes (basketball, 4.33), Aspen Park (soccer, 4.43) and Hassan Manassra (wrestling, 4.33).
