All of Congress needs to go
Our system of representation in Washington, D.C. is badly
broken. There may be 40 or 50 members of Congress that are honest
and ethical. It is hard to tell who they are so all of them should
go.
President Bush tore up the Constitution when he initiated the
policy of nationalizing private business. Recently, the House of
Representatives ran it through the shredder. I do not expect the
Senate to be any more responsible than the House.
Article I, Section 9, Item 3 of the Constitution of the United
States reads:
”
No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.
”
Our founding fathers felt so strongly about this that it is one
of the few restrictions on the states as stated in Article I,
Section 10. The action by the House violates that provision of our
tattered Constitution.
The provision for AIG to pay
”
retainer bonuses
”
should have been removed from the stimulus bill. This is the
version Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid agreed to in conference.
Senator Dodd has finally admitted that he is the one that put it in
the original bill. AIG donated over $250,000 to Sen. Chris Dodd
over the years. Treasury Secretary Geithner acknowledged he
requested the provision stay in the final version. We get the best
government money can buy.
And Nancy Pelosi says it is un-American to enforce our
immigration laws. OH! The e-verify mechanism for businesses to
check on the residency status of workers was removed in the
Pelosi/Reid compromise. Looks like amnesty will be put on the front
burner soon.
And the only difference in Washington and Sacramento is the
number of zero’s in their respective budgets.
