Wisconsin demonstrators just don’t get it. The well of money is
dry.
Dear Editor,
Wisconsin demonstrators just don’t get it. The well of money is dry. The Wisconsin governor has challenged the major root of the problem. Unions came about generations ago to aid coal miners, and their purpose was admirable. Unfortunately corruption brought complications. The “my-way-or-the-highway” approach worked. Their compromises have generally become non-compromises. The result: the “bubble has burst.” Most states are approaching bankruptcy. This also applies to our federal government. Unions have become so powerful politically that politicians rely on their support. Most workers have become beneficiaries of the excesses and understandably don’t want to be included in necessary compromises. Everyone must make sacrifices to get our country back on track. It appears Wisconsin is pioneering and sets an example.
