DMB Offers Well-Planned Growth for Our Community

Editor,

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Arizona town of Verrado, which was developed by DMB.

Verrado is a master-planned community, meaning all infrastructure, roads, parks and schools were planned long before the first home was built. And it was gorgeous – from the old-fashioned main street with mom and pop-styled shops and restaurants to the charming and diverse home styles.

As a resident of the equally charming, yet significantly older, small town of San Juan Bautista, I often hear the concerns of my neighbors about growth.

I share their concern that uncontrolled growth can threaten the quality of life of any community, especially one as special and unique as ours.

But there’s a huge difference between uncontrolled growth and development that is well planned and designed to meet the needs of future generations.

Good planning, like what we saw in Verrado, is exactly what we need in order to maintain and even enhance our quality of life – not just here in San Juan Bautista, but throughout the county – well into the future.

Good growth means new customers for our restaurants, jobs and homes for our children, recreation facilities for the use of all San Benito County residents, as well as new schools and improved roads.

It’s about planning for tomorrow so our children can enjoy the quality of life we enjoy today, and I’m all for it.

Why Was Tow Truck Operator Allowed to File So Many Suits?

Editor,

Regarding the story “Towing Operator’s Litigious Actions Called Into Question” (ajn. 26):

Why has former tow truck company operator Paul Greer been allowed to file such frivolous cases?

This man just goes after those who do not have any knowledge of their rights, or that they have options.

My co-worker was also falsely accused of owing towing charges for a towed car that no longer was in her possession.

She did defend herself, but after many hours of having to research and track down paperwork she should not have had to do.

When she called to drop off the proof of release of liability, his office gave her the wrong office address. They were located in an unmarked obscure location.

It was only then that he stopped harassing her and threatening to garnish her wages.

Why has he not been charged with harassment and wrongful suits in the courts?

And why would he change not just his name, first and last, but his entire family including his children?
