In 2010, Julio Martinez sits in Dunne Park to watch for any activity, positive or negative, as part of the monitoring phase of a 16-month grant the Youth Alliance received from the Health Trust to increase use of the park.

A group of locals are organizing an upcoming “Music in the Park” series at Dunne Park.
The free concerts are set for Aug. 29, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24, according to Greg Harvey, one of the organizers and owner of Joshua Inn Bed & Breakfast.
Harvey has been working with Mary Paxton and Tina Garza from the City of Hollister along with the Mr. O’s Academy of the Arts in putting the shows together.
For the first concert, it will feature Mr. O’s Jazz Band and David Huboi and the Architecturals. It is set for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dunne Park, Seventh and West streets.
Organizers encourage visitors to have a picnic on the lawn for the event. Organizers are not selling food or drink at this time. Families are encouraged to bring a low back chair, blanket and picnic, according to an announcement.
