Mothers Against Drunk Driving recently recognized three Hollister police officers for efforts to “reduce the incidence of driving under the influence in 2011,” according to the Hollister Police Department.

They were given plaques and pins at a regional awards luncheon hosted by the organization that honored officers in Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. The luncheon was held April 10 at the Monterey Hyatt.

The Hollister officers recognized included:

– Chris Wells, who had 31 DUI arrests

– Bo Leland, who had 22 DUI arrests

– Don Magnuson, who “was recognized for locating and turning over several DUI arrests to officers,” according to the HPD.

The department attributed increased DUI enforcement to a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety. Sgt. Eric Olson administers the Hollister Police Departments Office of Traffic Safety Grants.
