A failure to yield is being blamed for a traffic collision at the corner of McCray and East Park streets Saturday night.

Although the 8:30 p.m. accident is still under investigation, the probable cause is one driver’s failure to yield while making a left turn. Six people were involved and all were taken to Hazel Hawkins Hospital as a precautionary measure, said Officer A. Born, investigating officer with the California Highway Patrol.

“They complained of pain, but there were no major injuries,” he said.

The driver of a Dodge Neon was heading north on McCray and a Honda Accord was traveling south on McCray. The driver of the Neon was attempting to make a left turn onto East Park at the time of the accident, Born said.

The driver was the only person in the Accord and there were four passengers in the Neon, Born said.

There were no drugs or alcohol involved, he said.
