John Busby

Hollister police recently arrested a Salinas man on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl in Hollister, according to local police.
Police arrested John M. Busby, 24, at about 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 while alleging prior sexual relations with a minor female. The suspected crimes occurred on Nov. 25, while the relationship started on Facebook, according to police.
According to a report from police:
Busby drove to Hollister, picked up the victim, and took her to a different area of town and then sexually assaulted the victim. Busby drove the victim home and she later reported the incident to her parents and then later Hollister Police Department.
Busby was contacted by Hollister officers and detectives in the 1000 block of Meridian Street. Busby was arrested and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the San Benito County Jail where he was booked for the following charges.

• 243.4 PC-Sexual Battery
• 647.6 PC-Annoying or Molesting a Child Under 18 years old
Busby’s bail is listed at $286,000.
