Overcast skies and sporadic rainfall will likely continue until Monday. Since Tuesday, a little more than 1.2 inches of rain fell on South County, compared to the nearly 5 inches that feel the weekend of Jan. 5 and 6.
The wet weather has pushed the seasonal rainfall total to about 12 inches. That’s a bit more than the 11.51 inches that fell from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007.
As the rain let up this week, police and fire reported no major incidents along with the California Highway Patrol, according to CHP spokesman Chris Armstrong.
Meteorologists expect a storm to pass through South County with moderate rain Saturday afternoon and on into Sunday, after which intermittent downpours are likely. Strong winds and colder air will accompany the mostly gray weekend, as well, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday will perk up, though, with mostly sunny conditions as the day progresses, according to the NWS.
A PG&E spokesperson could not be reached for comment Thursday, but law enforcement personnel did not report any major weather-related outages throughout the week.
