Pellin on patrol
Vincent Pellin of Hollister recently completed Highway Patrol
cadet training, and has been assigned to duty at the CHP’s Central
Los Angeles area office.
Pellin was valedictorian of his class of 178 cadets.
Pellin is a 1999 graduate of Gilroy High School. He also
attended Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo and the University of
California, Santa Cruz.
Pellin’s father, Mike Pellin, is a retired Hollister Police
sergeant.
Cadet training includes vehicle patrol, accident investigation,
first aid, apprehension and arrest of suspects, traffic control,
report writing nad emergency scene management.

Walton makes Dean’s list
Melissa Walton, a 2006 graduate of San Benito High School, made the Dean’s list in Fall 2008 at the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada. To be on the Dean’s List students must earn a 3.7 or higher grade point average. Walton is a junior and is majoring in English/creative writing and political science, with a minor in religious studies.
Walton is the daughter of Karol Roy, of Hollister, and Andy Walton, of Morgan Hill.
