SBHS student accepted to Naval summer program
Mark Starrit, a San Benito High School student, will participate
in the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar program in Annapolis, MD.
The academy invites 2,250 students to participate in the program,
which is open to high-achieving students who have completed their
junior year of college. The program is six days long and allows
students to learn about life at the Naval Academy. The students
will live in Brancroft Hall, eat in the dining hall and participate
in academic and leadership workshops, as well as other activities
on campus.

The students will live in Brancroft Hall, eat in the dining hall and participate in academic and leadership workshops, as well as other activities on campus.
Academics are stressed during the weeklong session, and students are scheduled to attend eight 90-minute classes on subjects such as information technology, naval architecture and mechanical engineering, oceanography and others. The students will participate in seamanship and navigation classes, and will take a cruise aboard a yard patrol craft.
