which opens tonight at 7 p.m. in the Spring Grove School Sports
Center.
The classic tale of Peter Pan and his adventures in Never-Never Land are revamped in the stage production of “Peter Pan, the Musical,” which opens tonight at 7 p.m. in the Spring Grove School Sports Center.
There will also be a 2 p.m. and a 7 p.m show on Saturday capped off by a final 2 p.m. show on Sunday.
Tickets are $4 and doors open a half an hour before the show.
The production is sponsored by the Spring Grove School Theatre Arts Program, a volunteer program staffed almost entirely by parents at the school.
“The parents have been wonderful,” producer Sue Rocha said. “They spent all weekend putting this stage together.”
Instead of trying to shuffle sets back and forth, the crew built a large stage with three sets connected as one.
The production, directed by Pepe Espinosa and Gerrod Zanger, recieved a $2,000 boost with a grant from Target Stores’ Target Foundation.
The show is divided into three acts filled with a variety of musical numbers.
Unlike the classic version of the childhood fantasy, this production enfuses a lot of humor, barbs and quips that will keep audiences laughing throughout the performance.
