On Aug. 16, Hollister Police officers responded to Evelyns Drive on a call of a man allegedly making terrorist threats seen outside the victim’s home. Police arrived and contacted Anthony Fink, 18. He was found in possession of a loaded firearm and arrested on numerous felony charges. Fink was booked into the San Benito County Jail on violations of possessing a loaded firearm with the intent to commit a felony, carrying a concealed loaded firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place and making terrorist threats.
On Thursday, around 4:22 p.m., a 17-year-old boy, and his mother reported threats made against the boy by Fink, of Hollister. The victim said Fink had threatened to shoot him over a dispute over allegedly stolen property. The victim denied taking anything from the suspect but said the suspect was not being reasonable. The victim believed the suspect might be under the influence of narcotics.
The victim’s mother said Fink had come to their home the previous day looking for her son and, when she told him he was not there, Fink told her he was going to hurt her son. Police also received other reports that Fink is known to carry a rifle.
Later in the evening, around 7:20 p.m., Officer David Anderson responded to a report that Fink was again in front of the victim’s home. Officer Anderson arrived and noticed a man resembling Fink’s description in front of the home. Officer Anderson contacted Fink and was able to detain him without incident. Officer Anderson subsequently found Fink had a loaded rifle, with a modified pistol-grip stock, stuffed in his pants.
The Hollister Police Department is still actively investigating this incident.
