BATTERY:
Andrew Branker, 54, of Fresno, was arrested by Hollister police for battery, a misdemeanor, after he allegedly struck a female with his knee and pushed her into a bush in the 1400 block of Prune Street at 12:50am on Friday, police said.
THEFT:
Leeanna Rae Villa, 33, of 901 Marne Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 1111 San Felipe Road at 10:44am on Friday for cruelty to an elder and theft, felonies, after she allegedly stole two $250 pre-paid American Express credit cards from the 81-year-old Hollister resident she was taking care of, police said.
BURGLARY:
Michael James Rivera, 22, of 1431 Diablo Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 7:23pm on Friday for burglary and receiving stolen property, felonies, after he allegedly stole $82 and a cell phone from a residence in the 500 block of Memorial Drive. Police said they are looking for another male who was with Rivera when the burglary occurred.
ILLEGAL SPEED CONTEST:
Trevor Parker, 18, of 831 Versailles Dr. in Hollister, was cited by Hollister police for participating in an illegal speed contest, a misdemeanor, after police saw him and another 16-year-old male driving side-by-side at a high rate of speed down Meridian Street at 11:50pm on Saturday, police said. The other juvenile was also cited and released.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
Javier Briseno, 28, of 710 Brighton Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at 10 San Felipe Road at 2:36am on Saturday, police said.
Rick Joe Lynch, 51, of Oakdale, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at Highway 129 west of Highway 101 at 12:52am on Saturday, police said.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS WHILE ARMED:
Jessie Sanchez Ortiz, 54, of San Jose, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded semi-automatic handgun, carrying a concealed weapon, felonies, and driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, on Anzar and Cole roads in Aromas at 11:47pm on Saturday, police said. Deputies pulled Ortiz over, discovered he had a warrant for his arrest and found the illegal items when they searched his car, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
