CHILD ABUSE:
Lynne Elaine Cleveland, 39, of 2440 Valley View Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for inflicting injury to a child and giving drugs to a minor, felonies, and using prescription drugs prescribed to someone else, a misdemeanor, at her home at 3:23pm on Monday, police said. Cleveland allegedly gave her 4-year-old daughter prescription sleeping pills because she wouldn’t behave, and when police arrived at the home the child was fading in and out of consciousness, police said. Cleveland was booked into the county jail and the child was taken to the hospital and then placed in protective custody, police said.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
Aristeo Fergoso Sandoval, 35, who lives in the 1700 block of Graf Road in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license, misdemeanors, on Highway 25 and Hudner Lane at 2:40am on Monday, police said.
Lorna Kehavlani McGregor, 35, of Salinas, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on Highway 101 north of Highway 129 at 11:30pm on Monday, police said. McGregor was driving approximately 70 mph when she swerved, overturned her 1997 Toyota Four Runner once and came to rest in the center divider. She suffered minor scrapes and bruises and was taken to Hazel Hawkins Hospital, then booked in the county jail, police said.
IDENTITY THEFT:
Mario Suriano, 22, of Gilroy, was arrested by Hollister police on Tuesday for identity theft, forgery and being in possession of stolen property, felonies, along with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, after attempting to buy a car at Greenwood Chevrolet with someone else’s driver’s license and then leading officers on an approximately 10 minute foot chase, police said. Officers finally arrested Suriano in a field behind the Quick Stop on San Felipe Road at 2:24pm, police said.
BURGLARY:
Unknown suspects broke into a car in the 300 block of Willow Drive sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday and stole $700 worth of tools, police said.
DRUG SALES:
A 17-year-old Hollister male was arrested by Hollister police for possession of marijuana for sale, a felony, at San Benito High School at 2pm on Wednesday, police said. A supervisor saw two teens acting suspiciously, and when he contacted them one of them said he had just bought a small amount of marijuana from the other, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY:
Alejandro Hernandez, 38, of 870 Joe Borovich Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police in the 800 block of Joe Borovich Drive for domestic battery, a misdemeanor, and damaging a phone line, a felony, at 3:37pm on Wednesday, police said. Hernandez allegedly pulled a female’s hair, pushed her and broke the phone when she tried to call for help, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
