BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) broke into the Hollister Family Bowl and stole tools that can only be used on bowling equipment by prying the back door open sometime between 9:45 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday. Hollister police have taken prints off the door and believe it may have been an inside job.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Daniel Webb Simons, 39, who lives at 5075 Fairview Road in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police on Second and San Benito streets for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, endangering his 3-year-old daughter who was in the car with him, a felony, and driving with a restricted license, a misdemeanor, at 12:50 a.m. Sunday.
EXHIBITING DEADLY WEAPON: Carmen Hernandez, 44, who lives at 220 Madera Court in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for brandishing a knife in front of Uriel Arceo, a security guard at Hollister Supermarket, and for being drunk in public, both misdemeanors, at 6:22 p.m. Saturday.
BURGLARY: Hollister resident Jose Flores, who lives at 621 Wiebe Way #5, had his home burglarized at 3:18 a.m. Saturday when unknown suspect(s) came into the house through an unlocked door and stole five necklaces.
ARSON: Hollister police responded to an arson call at Yoshiko Ogawa’s home at 1301 Versailles Drive in Hollister at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, when she reported there was an object sitting outside her entryway spouting four-foot flames. Police determined it was a bag filled with excrement and was set on fire as a prank.
CAR VS. MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: Juan Solorio, 46, of Hollister, who was driving a 1990 Honda Accord, collided with Hollister resident Larry David Hail, 44, of 27 Barbars Drive in Hollister, who was riding a 1972 Harley Davidson, at 9:07 p.m. Friday at 1700 Airline Highway. The accident sent Hail, who had been drinking, to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital where he suffered from eight broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung and several broken toes. Hail’s blood alcohol was tested at the hospital and Hollister police are still determining whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident.
SHOOTING: Hollister police responded to a shooting at 622 Central St. at 2:15 p.m. Friday, when a juvenile residing at the residence reported that someone had shot what police believe to be a 9mm into the front of the house and the bullet had lodged in one of the kitchen cabinets. Police do not have any suspects and do not believe the shooting is gang related or in retaliation for anything. Four juveniles ranging from ages 17 to 5 were in the house at the time of the shooting but no one was injured.
