POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Abraham Amaya, 19, of 1850 Hillcrest Road, Apt. 18, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and falsely identifying himself to a peace officer, a misdemeanor, when Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET) agents conducted a probation search of the residence at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday. UNET agents searched the home because Amaya’s brother, who is incarcerated in the Santa Clara County Jail for burglary, indicated he had guns and money hidden in the apartment.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Jim Albert Hernandez, 27, of 1218 Sally St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday for domestic abuse when an argument with his girlfriend of six years prompted a physical confrontation where he pushed the woman and threatened her by opening and closing a pocket knife in front of her face. A restraining order against Hernandez was issued.

BURGLARY: Hollister police responded to a burglary at 11 p.m. Tuesday to Hollister resident James Palermo’s home at 711 Monica Court, where a BMX Haro bike and about 20 DVDs were stolen. The suspect entered through a side bedroom window and left through a garage door.
