Vandalism

The rear window of an Oldsmobile parked in the 1700 block of Airline Highway in Hollister was broken between 12:30pm and 1pm Saturday, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.

Two tires of a Pontiac Grand Am parked in the first block of Plumtree Drive in Hollister were slashed between midnight and 6am Sunday, police said. There are no suspects.

A vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Diablo Drive in Hollister was spray painted between 3:30pm Saturday and midnight Sunday, police said. The graffiti read ‘Norte,’ ‘XIV,’ and ‘BHT,’ which is short for ‘Barrio Hollister Turf,’ police said. The graffiti is associated with the Norteño street gang, police said. There are no suspects.

Home burglary

An unlocked storage shed in the backyard of a home in the 200 block of Line Street in Hollister was entered between 9pm Saturday and 8:46am Sunday, police said. Wheels worth $500, rims worth $100 and a live rabbit were taken, police said. There are no suspects.

Vehicle burglary

A vehicle parked in the 2300 block of Driftwood Street in Hollister was broken into between 11:30pm and 11:41pm Monday, police said. A neighbor noticed two men breaking into the vehicle, police said. Stereo equipment worth $25 and $280 in cash were taken, police said. The men fled in a silver Honda CRX, police said.

A vehicle parked in the 800 block of Industrial Drive in Hollister was broken into between 7pm and 9:30pm Monday, police said. A purse, wallet, several credit cards, gift cards worth $75 and $40 in cash were taken, police said. There are no suspects.

Grand theft

Tools worth $1,100 were stolen from the bed of a pickup truck parked in the 900 block of Capitola Drive in Hollister between 8pm Saturday and noon Sunday, police said. There are no suspects.

Robbery

A woman was robbed of her cell phone in the parking lot of McDonald’s on Airline Highway in Hollister at 7:45pm Tuesday, police said. Another woman took her phone by force and used a screw driver to scratch the back of the victim’s neck, police said. The suspect was described as a 5-foot-4, 150-pound Hispanic woman wearing black gloves and a red sweater, police said.

Arrests

Burglary

Ricardo Cendejas, a 19-year-old homeless man, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of burglary, a felony, at the Target Shopping Center at 2pm Monday, police said. Officers believe Cendejas took cologne from the store and had no money to pay for it, police said.

Domestic violence

Frank Reyes, 54, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of domestic violence, a felony, after officers responded to a home and found a woman with visible injuries at 5:17pm Monday, police said.

Possession of a deadly weapon

Melinda Hempstead, a 44-year-old homeless woman, was arrested by police on a misdemeanor warrant at 8:58am Tuesday, police said. Hempstead was allegedly found to be in possession of a box cutter, police said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
