ARRESTS

Assault with a deadly weapon, Amador Circle

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 1200 block of Amador Circle on a report of an out-of-control juvenile who had been hitting a victim repetitively with a plastic bat. While police were there, they saw evidence that the same thing happened at an earlier date – the only difference was that a wooden cane was used by the suspect. He was arrested and booked into juvenile hall.

Possession of a switchblade, Hazel Street

At 8:49 p.m. on Wednesday, police performed a vehicle check for an expired registration on the 100 block of Hazel Street. During the check, police contacted and searched a male Hollister juvenile because he was on probation and was found to have a switchblade. The other male, an 18-year-old Hollister man, was violating a warrant. They were both arrested. The juvenile was sent to juvenile hall and the adult male went to the county jail.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

First degree burglary, San Felipe Road

At 11:26 p.m. on Wednesday, a beer skip took place at the Quik Stop on the 100 block of San Felipe Road. Police have a known suspect because when the Salinas man was trying to steal the beer, the clerk caught on to what he was doing and the man dropped some clothes and a cell phone while fleeing the scene.

Forcible entry, San Benito Street

At around midnight on Tuesday, an unknown suspect or suspects cut a screen while attempting to gain entry into a house on the 1100 block of San Benito Street. The residents were asleep when it occurred and the daughter was awoken by the noise. The girl ran to her parents who turned the lights on and saw the screen had been cut from the corners.

Trespassing, West Street

At 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, an ex-boyfriend of a victim’s daughter entered their residence without permission on the 900 block of West Street. The suspect was formerly advised not to come onto the property. He was cited and released.

Damage a wireless communication device, McCarthy Street

At 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, an argument broke out between a 27-year-old Hollister man and a female victim over the status of their relationship. The suspect got upset and punched his hand into a bedroom window. The victim was going to call 911 but the suspect stopped her by taking the phone from her hand. Police did not say what happened with the phone and the suspect still has yet to be contacted by police.

Vehicle theft, San Felipe Road

At 12:30 p.m. on Monday, police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Community Pantry on the 1100 block of San Felipe Road for an abandoned vehicle. Police verified the plates and the car came up stolen. The car was reported stolen with the California Highway Patrol.
