Possession of marijuana, Virginia Drive

At 9:55 p.m. on Monday, police pulled over a 39-year-old San Juan Bautista man for a traffic violation and smelled marijuana coming from his car on the 500 block of Virginia Drive. The suspect was in possession of marijuana and was arrested and booked into the county jail.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

Vehicle theft, Haydon Street

At 5:26 a.m. on Thursday, a victim was running his car to warm it up on the 400 block of Haydon Street. While the victim was away, an unknown suspect stole the vehicle.

Trespassing, Crescent Lane

Around 5 p.m. on Saturday, an unknown suspect or suspects entered a vacated residence on the 1100 block of Crescent Lane and damaged the property. Police said that the carpet and a window screen were damaged and the suspect or suspects left undetected.

Petty theft, Jan Avenue

At 1:03 p.m., police received a report from a victim who had his hunting rifle stolen from his backyard on the 1200 block of Jan Avenue. Police said the victim had left his rifle in the backyard leaning against the back fence. Later, the man noticed it was missing. No suspect information was available.

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Airline Highway

At 9:42 p.m. on Tuesday, a mother picked up her daughter from a friend’s house and noticed she was intoxicated after she had left a family event to meet some friends at a local business. During that time, a 21-year-old Hollister man is suspected of purchasing alcohol for the 15-year-old female at a store on Airline Highway. The case has been referred to the San Benito County District Attorney’s Office.

Vandalism, Marne Drive

At 9 p.m. on Monday, police received a report of vandalism to a car on the 1200 block of Marne Drive. An unknown suspect damaged the driver’s-side mirror of a car.

Grand theft, B Street

At 10:11 p.m. on Monday, a vicim reported a theft from the trunk of his vehicle on the 900 block of B Street. An unknown suspect stole a digital camera and a video camera from the trunk. The victim said he believed the trunk of his car was closed, but police said there was no damage to the car or the trunk might not have latched. No suspect information was available.
