ARRESTS

Wanted for jail escape, location not available

Jail records show that the sheriff’s office took Theresa Murray – the records didn’t indicate a residence or age – into custody on Tuesday on warrants and fresh charges totaling nine felonies and two misdemeanors. It is known that Murray was wanted for escaping from a jail by using force. It was not clear at press time from which correctional facility she escaped, but it was not the San Benito County Jail. The other charges on the warrants involved passing fictitious checks and various drug charges. The fresh charges, meaning crimes she was committing at the time of her arrest for the warrants, include possession of methamphetamine, grand theft and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Recklessly Evading Police, Nash Road

A suspect fled a traffic enforcement stop on Monday and led police on a low-speed pursuit before stopping and allowing a passenger to leave the car and flee the scene. The suspect then drove away at a high rate of speed, but then stopped again a short time later. A second person fled the scene and then the driver was arrested for felony vehicle evasion. The two suspects that fled remain at large.

Hit and Run/DUI, location not available

Police pulled over a vehicle Monday night that matched the description of an auto involved in a hit-and-run incident that had just taken place nearby. The accident resulted in injuries to a victim in the other vehicle – he was transported to the hospital. Field sobriety tests revealed that the suspect was intoxicated. He was arrested and booked into county jail.
