Burglaries

Burglars used a bedroom window to enter a home in the 1200 block of Buena Vista Road in Hollister between 9:30am and 11:03am Friday, the Hollister Police Department said. Burglars took at $100 ring, police said. There are no suspects.

Burglars used a bedroom window to enter a home in the first block of Almond Court in Hollister between 9:20am and 12:47pm Friday, police said. Burglars took $400 in cash, police said. There are no suspects.

Vehicle theft

Thieves stole a 1992 Saturn from the driveway of a home in the first block of Budeson Drive on Jan. 25, police said. The car is valued at $1,000, police said. There are no suspects.

Vandalism

Vandals slashed two tires and used a rock to break the windows of a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck in the 1100 block of Monterey Street between 8pm and 8:30pm Friday, police said. Damage is estimated to be more than $1,000, police said. There are three suspects, one of whom witnesses identified as a 17-year-old boy, police said.

Arrests

Drunken driving

Santiago Hernandez Duran, 24, of Gilroy, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a routine traffic stop on Highway 25 south of Shore Road at 1:50am Saturday, according to the CHP.

Raymundo Fregoso, 30, of the 1200 block of Loma Vista Drive in Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after an anonymous caller reported drunken driving at 12:50am Saturday, police said. Fregoso was stopped and arrested in the 100 block of East Park Street in Hollister, police said.

Antonio Ramirez, 20, of the 800 block of San Benito Street in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a routine traffic stop in the 800 block of East Street at 10:02pm Saturday, police said.

Drunk in public

Roman Lopez, 44, of the 800 block of Paseo Drive in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of being drunk in public at the Starbucks on San Juan Road at 6:53pm Saturday, police said. Officers found Lopez unable to care for himself, police said.

Juan Manuel Serratos Acosta, 50, of Hollister, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of being drunk in public at Fremont Way and San Benito Street at 3:08am Monday, deputies said. A deputy drove by Acosta, who was leaning against a pole, deputies said. When asked if he’d been drinking, Acosta replied, “Yeah I’ve been drinking!” deputies said. Acosta also was arrested on suspicion of possessing controlled substance paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, after police were called to a hotel in the 100 block of San Felipe Road at 11:34am Saturday, police said. Hotel staff told officers Acosta refused to check out of his room, police said. When officers went to Acosta’s room, they saw a methamphetamine smoking pipe in plain view, police said.

Domestic violence

Salvador Sanchez, 28, of Hollister, was arrested by police for exhibiting a firearm, a misdemeanor; domestic violence, a misdemeanor; damaging a telephone line, a felony; and injuring a child, a felony; after officers responded to a domestic dispute at 2:09am Monday, police said. Sanchez began to argue with a woman, grabbed her and picked up a rifle, disrupting her 911 call, all in the presence of a child, police said.

Vehicle theft

Clinton Benitez, 21, of San Jose, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of vehicle theft, a felony; receiving known stolen property, a felony; burglary, a felony; and driving while unlicensed, a misdemeanor; after he was pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving on San Felipe Road near Highway 156, deputies said. Benitez was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon, deputies said. A registration check showed it belonged to an owner on Fallon Road, deputies said. A police patrol car was dispatched to the owner’s address and a check revealed the vehicle had been stolen out of the home’s driveway, deputies said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
