At 9:35 p.m. on Sunday, an unknown male walked into Westside
Liquors on the 1200 block of San Juan Road, jumped over the
counter, brandished a stun gun and stole an estimated $600 to $700
from the store.
ARRESTS

DUI of a controlled substance, Tres Pinos Road

At 9:06 p.m. on June 5, an 18-year-old Hollister male was stopped by police for vehicle violations on Tres Pinos Road. Upon talking with the suspect, police suspected he was under the influence of stimulants. The officer conducted a drug recognition exam and he showed objective signs of being under the influence. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Drunk in public, East Street

At 12:37 a.m. on Monday, an officer on patrol found a 34-year-old Hollister man stumbling down the 700 block of East Street. The officer went around the block and noticed the man trying to put a key into a car door. When approached by the officer, the man went around the car and sat on the curb, having to use the car for balance. Police said the man kept repeating that he was 74 years old. The man showed objective signs of being intoxicated and was unable to care for himself. He was arrested, booked into the county jail and placed in a safety cell for his own protection.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

First degree robbery, San Juan Road

At 9:35 p.m. on Sunday, an unknown male walked into Westside Liquors on the 1200 block of San Juan Road, jumped over the counter, brandished a stun gun and stole an estimated $600 to $700 from the store. Police said the man is still at large and is described as a tall, muscular white man in tan shirt and pants. For a story on this incident, see Tuesday’s edition of The Free Lance.

Petty theft, Tres Pinos Road

At 3:09 p.m. on Saturday, a female Hollister juvenile was caught stealing shirts at Kmart on the 400 block of Tres Pinos Road. She was detained by Kmart Loss Prevention. She was cited and released to her father.

Embezzlement, Homestead Avenue

At 5 p.m. on Monday, a son of an elderly mother reported to police of an embezzlement by his sister at a residence on the 1000 block of Homestead Avenue. It was reported that his elderly mother moved in with his sister and she drew $100,000 in equity from his mothers house, which was supposed to go for home repairs. He alleges that some of the money has gone for his sister’s personal use. Police said that they have contacted Adult Protective Services and the case is still pending.

Vandalism; deface property, Southside Road

At 9 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to the intersection of Ladd Lane and Southside Road on a report of graffiti on a sound wall. While on this case, the officer found another set of similar graffiti on a sign at the intersection of Ladd Lane and Paul Street. No suspect information was available.
