Police received a report at 8 a.m. Thursday of a battery on a
10-year old boy inside Safeway on Friday night.
Battery, Vine Street

Police received a report at 8 a.m. Thursday of a battery on a 10-year old boy inside Safeway on Friday night. On the 100 block of Vine Street the boy walked into Safeway to get items for his father when a suspect inside the store struck him in the head. The father walked into the store to confront the suspect and the two got into an argument. Before the father could call the police the suspect fled the scene. The incident was reported the following day and police are waiting to review the store’s surveillance tape.

Disorderly conduct, Matulich Court

Just after 4 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Matulich Court, police responded to an argument between a man and his family. The man, who was suspected to be drunk, tried to drive away from the home before relatives stopped him from getting in his vehicle. The relatives wrestled him to the ground before a fight ensued. One relative called the police for their assistance. Officers booked the man after determining he was intoxicated.

Attempted robbery, San Juan Road

At 10 p.m. Thursday police responded to an attempted robbery after a man tried to steal an 18-pack of beer from the Quik Stop on the 1300 block of San Juan Road. As the clerk went outside to throw something away, he noticed an 18-year-old male acting suspiciously. The clerk watched the man grab the pack of beer and head for the door. Before he reached the door the suspect tripped and fell to the ground, allowing the clerk to jump on top of him. The two wrestled before the suspect struck the clerk and ran away. Officers are reviewing the security tape.

Burglary, East Street

Near the 400 block of East Street, police reported that between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Friday someone broke the front-right window of a woman’s vehicle outside Whiskey Creek Saloon. The woman left the vehicle there overnight before discovering the window smashed in the morning. A small video game was taken from the car. Police are following up on suspect leads.

Battery, Talbot Drive

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Talbot Drive, police responded to a report of battery after an argument over calling 911. The reporting party went to a gathering with friends when one of her friends got sick and started throwing up. Concerned, the woman wanted to call 911 but another person didn’t want to. A pushing and shoving match started before the suspect allegedly hit the woman. Police are still investigating.

Petty Theft, San Juan Drive

Police reported a theft at 6 a.m. Sunday of an 18-pack of beer from the Quik Stop on the 1300 block of San Juan Road. The clerk, cleaning, had his back turned to the suspect when the suspect grabbed the case of beer and walked out of the store and drove away. The stored didn’t realize the alcohol was taken until later that day. Police are searching for leads.

Battery, Sutter Street

Just after 9 a.m. Sunday, officers reported a battery between two juvenile brothers, which happened three days earlier, near the 900 block of Sutter Street.

Under the influence, Meridian Street

Around 7 p.m. Sunday, police were called to check up on a person near the intersection of Meridian and McCray streets. The suspect’s family called the police after the woman was acting “bizarre.” When officers arrived the woman was showing all the signs of being under the influence and, after testing, the officers took the woman into custody.
