Drug Possession:
n Carlos Alfredo Soliz, 47, of San Juan Bautista, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; and destroying evidence, a misdemeanor, at the corner of Polk Street and Fifth Street in San Juan Bautista at 9:38pm Nov. 23, deputies said. A deputy saw Soliz throw an object on the ground, deputies said. When the deputy contacted Soliz, he saw a broken methamphetamine pipe on the ground, deputies said. Upon searching Soliz, the deputy found 0.62 grams of methamphetamine that Soliz had attempted to drop and step on, deputies said.
Driving Under the Influence:
n Peter Joseph Rajkovich, 38, of the 1400 block of Bolsa Road in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after the CHP stopped him for a vehicle code violation at San Benito Street and Third Street at 1:16am Nov. 23, according to the CHP.
n Reynaldo Aguilar Elias, 57, of the 1200 block of Buena Vista Road in Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after he attempted to drive into the Lights On parade on Saturday, police said. The arresting officer was on foot patrol, police said.
Auto Theft:
n Hector Perez Ortiz, 42, of the 100 block of Peartree Lane, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of receiving stolen property, a felony, after police found him in a vehicle stolen out of Gilroy in the parking lot behind Safeway in Hollister at 7:45pm Nov. 23, police said.
n Juan Carlos Barajas, 23, a transient, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of receiving stolen property, a felony; vehicle theft, a felony; possession of burglary tools, a misdemeanor; and possession of a switch blade, a misdemeanor, after being spotted in the stolen vehicle on Bridge Road at 3:41pm Saturday, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
