New vehicle

The Hollister Police Department will have five new utility vehicles on the road thanks to a grant.
Police received the first of those five vehicles funded by a state Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Funds Grant received last year.
According to a police statement, this grant is specifically directed for use for “frontline law enforcement services.” Council members approved the use of the grant funds in November.
In total, the grant funds the cost of five Ford Interceptor Utility Vehicles, the cost of the emergency equipment and labor to have a company, Emergency Vehicle Specialist, install equipment.
All five vehicles will be put into patrol service within the next few weeks, according to police. That will happen once they are outfitted with emergency equipment.
