Monterey County authorities Thursday seized about 4,000 marijuana plants at Fremont Peak State Park, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and a helicopter unit with the California Highway Patrol eradicated the marijuana garden, located in the state park.

No suspects were at the location when authorities arrived, while the investigation is continuing.
