With trees throughout the city growing at a rapid pace this time of year, it was no surprise when one of them on the east side of Hollister bloomed its branches over a stop sign. City crews promptly took care of the problem, though.

The stop sign at El Toro Drive and Arena Way had been covered but now is clearly visible to drivers in the area. Such impediments can be a big concern due to the safety hazard it creates, especially this time of year when more and more younger people are walking throughout town.

Hollister’s head of public works, Clay Lee, noted how crews address impeded signs as soon as possible when they hear of them. To report an issue on a city road, call 636-4370.
